| Benbow is Bosham's sole waterfront B&B and is a charming Grade II listed Georgian
family home dating back to 1760. Based on an original Queen Anne fisherman's cottage, the house
has been recently restored to provide two beautifully appointed double bedrooms, en suite, with stunning
views across the harbour to Bosham village with its historic church and quay. There are two pubs, each serving good food as well as coffee shops and a craft centre. |
 |
Conveniently situated just off the A27, Benbow is one of the village's
original Beer Houses. The house was finally decommissioned as a pub by the brewers George Gale & Son
in 1937 but many of the original features remain. There is excellent access to the village by road
or footpath and there is a causeway across the creek at low tide.
Guests will enjoy a sumptuous Aga-cooked full English breakfast, with other options available.
Equally, the bedrooms are provided with tea/coffee making facilities.
The nearby cathedral city of Chichester offers a wide variety of shopping as well as the renowned Festival Theatre. |
| Another favourite is nearby Goodwood with its Festival of Speed and Revival programmes for car enthusiasts together with Glorious Goodwood for those who prefer horse racing. There is a magnificent
Roman Palace at Fishbourne and Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard and ferry port is just twenty minutes
away. Alternatively, there are wonderful beaches at East and West Wittering.
Tariff: Room rates from £40 per person per night.
